Welcome to the official LumoTray blog. This will be the place for release notes, development updates, practical Windows 11 customization tips, and the occasional behind-the-scenes note about building a small desktop utility as a solo developer.
What is LumoTray?
LumoTray is a lightweight Windows 11 system tray app for people who want more control over their desktop without adding a heavy, complicated tool to their setup.
It currently includes:
- Custom Menu - build a personal tray menu for apps, files, folders, scripts, and nested shortcuts
- Wallpaper Manager - control wallpapers across multiple monitors, including modes Windows does not handle well by default
- Lockscreen Manager - customize the Windows lock screen with the same kind of wallpaper sources and modes
- Screensaver Modes - bring back useful or fun screen effects in a modern setup
- Hot Corners - trigger actions by moving the mouse to a screen corner
The app is free to download and fully functional. If you use it often, or use it in a business, there is a $19 one-time license that removes the weekly registration reminder and lets you add your name, alias, or company name inside the app.
No subscription. No monthly fee. Just a small way to support the project if LumoTray becomes part of your workflow.
Why start a blog?
A desktop app needs more than a download page. Features change, small improvements add up, and some parts of Windows customization are easier to understand with a short guide than with another checkbox in the app.
This blog gives LumoTray a proper place for:
- Release notes and version highlights
- Tips for using LumoTray more effectively
- Explanations of new features and design decisions
- Windows 11 customization articles
- Notes from the development process
Some posts will be written for existing users. Others will be useful for people searching for ways to improve their Windows 11 setup, especially around multi-monitor wallpapers, lock screen customization, tray menus, and desktop workflow shortcuts.
What comes next?
LumoTray is currently on v2.0.5, with version 2 bringing a much stronger foundation for wallpapers, custom menus, and modern Windows 11 desktop customization.
The goal for this blog is simple: make updates easier to follow, make features easier to discover, and give the project a better long-term home for documentation and useful articles.
